Well I tried to stop taking my allergy pill to see if I still break out in a rash. The last pill I took was on Thursday last week and last night I broke out in nice big rash spots! So I took a pill before bed. I’ll see if taking it at night helps the drowsy affects or not.

Shannon spent his Thanksgiving with his folks and I went to Omaha to see my folks. Unfortunately the day I had to drive up I also had to do overtime which means a 3:00 AM wake up call and to be at work by 5:00 AM. So i was VERY tired when I got to Omaha to say the least.
Thanksgiving day Mom had the turkey in the oven and everything was going as planned. Mom had timed everything to be done for a 2:30 PM Lunch/Dinner. Well, 2:30 PM can and the turkey just did not look done. Mom had my brother Bill start to cut into the bird and it was defiantly not done.
It was then discovered that the oven was warm but not as hot as it should be. Mom cranked it up to 400 degrees and then checked a thermometer to see the oven was off by about 150 to 200 degrees. Hence why everything else (all the side dishes) were cooking and done but the turkey was not done. The turkey needed a temperature over 325 to cook and when Mom set the over to 325 it really wasn’t hot enough to cook the turkey.
So the turkey made a trip to the basement where the Roaster Oven was and there it would stay till it was completely cooked. Around 5:00 we gave up on it getting completely done and cut off some dark and white meat to speed cook in the microwave while the rest of the turkey continued to cook in the roaster oven.
Everyone was starving. Dad, Mom and I had only had coffee and cinnamon rolls for breakfast and that was around 9:00 AM so we were defiantly ready to eat!
Everything worked out great after that.
I have a plan with Verizon that I get a new phone every two years and that time was here. So I went to the Verizon store in Lee’s Summit and spent about two and a half hours looking over the selection of phones. I had a hard time finding the right phone. They all have too much crap on them. I just wanted a simple phone. Plus I wanted to get a second phone for free if possible so Shannon could get an upgraded phone.
I finally choose the sale phone they were advertising in all the ads and papers. The Samsung a950 phone that comes with a Samsung a630 free (after rebates). The a950 is a camera, video, music MP3 phone but I won’t be using any of that stuff, maybe the camera once in a blue moon. But for the money it was the best offer. My “new every 2 year” plan gives me a phone discount of $99 off any phone. So I basically got two new phones for about $45. No other combinations of phones offered that deal.
I have to remember to phone Verizon and have them stop the “one month free trial” of the V cast and stuff. Otherwise they will just continue to bill me till I tell them to stop.
Today is laundry, cooking turkey noodle soup (thanks Mom for the home made noodles and turkey broth), balancing the check book (not pretty but at least a positive balance) and web work.

Well, I’ve been very bad about blogging lately. I will work on changing that.
Saturday I cleaned out the gutters. My what a fun job. I’m still to chicken to get on the roof to do it. I’m afraid I’ll bend over to reach the gutters and roll off the roof. So I go along the edge of the house with the ladder resting on the gutter (exactly what I’m not suppose to do) and reach in about chest high into the gutter and pull the debris out. I thought I could use a tip for cleaning the gutters where you cut the bottom off a 1/2 gallon milk jug and use it to scoop out the gutters. My gutters are very old and too narrow for the milk jug. So I did it by hand like the other times.
That pretty much wiped me out. I had to take a nap with Jaki in the living room.
Saturday evening I went to my friend Jim’s house for a dinner party. It was a great evening! I brought Hummus and Pita for the appetizer; Ria made Salad; Matt and Adrienne made Cake for desert; Van made new potatoes ala rose mary, and Jim made the Asparagus and Filet Mignons. We had a few glasses of wine, a lot of conversation and where entertained by the Roto-Rooter Man from Blue Springs that was called to Jim’s clogged sink rescue.
Before any guest had even arrived, Jim’s kitchen sink backed up with milky “stuff” which happens a few times a year due to him living in a Condo and the upstairs folks put too much down their disposal. Jim handled it very well and the evening went without a hitch otherwise. The work of the Plumber didn’t even interfere with the dinner. We were in the living room with the appetizer when he arrived.
I brought my iPod with me to show Van. He’s thinking of getting one and wanted to see what it was like first hand and ask questions.
Jim had some great music from the early diso years that he played during the evening. It was very fun. Thanks Jim!
I have to get a move on to weatherize the windows today - while the temperature is decent.

Well as you can see, I am not blogging much lately. Nor am I being a good little boy and making it to the gym. Financial troubles are heavy on my mind and pretty much through the gym stuff out the window for this week.
I have a horrible December money wise. I always have big bills due and never enough money. Usually I sell a week of my vacation in order to cover the expense but I have no more vacation left till the end of May 2006. So I’ve been doing a lot of chicken scratching to figure out how this will go down.
I’m getting some money from KC Free Health for ad that I did, but they are so slow in paying. They have a lot of red tape to go through before the money reaches my door. If I get that money before December I will squeak by, if not, I will have to borrow some to cover.
Oh and by the way, all the stress and not going to the gym has my weight up to 208 lbs. yeah!

Well, I blew it this week. I didn’t go to the gym once, I ate tons of Halloween candy, and I gorged on pizza.
Despite all that I weigh in at 205 lb this morning. Huh, kind of weird. Next week will be better for the gym part, I will work on the food part.
I had to do a lot of crap at work and that kind of stressed me out. We even had overtime (yep I was at work and working by 5:00 AM). A very special part broke on some equipment at work and they had to do all the work manually. Manually took much, much, much longer to do and everyone was helping the department out (as they got more and more buried). Luckily they got the part FedEX’d and the department quickly recovered.
However, that same overtime day I had to go to an off site workshop and take notes for three hours. I was very tired when I got home from work and barely kept my eyes open on the couch to watch some TV.
I also fell behind on my blogging. I didn’t really have much to say and I was kind of tired of computers.
It is definitely Fall around here. Tons of leaves on the ground. Shannon has raked twice and you would never guess it. The ground is just covered with pretty yellow/orange leaves. I guess I’ll go out side this afternoon and work on the backyard leaves, that should pretty much take up the entire afternoon!
