Jaki’s Hurting

Published by Steve under Jaki

When I came home from work yesterday I noticed Jaki was walking a little different. Barely noticeable but she was walking very carefully. She is hurting again. Either her back, hips, somewhere, we can’t figure it out. But she yelps whenever she tries to jump up onto furniture or down from furniture.

She woke me up at 2:30 screaming in the living room. She made it up into my bed and managed to sleep. I however could not sleep for fear of bumping into her and making her hurt more. So I didn’t get much sleep at all. I hope she gets to feeling better today.

I’ve closed my bedroom door so she wouldn’t jump up onto my bed and hurt her back any more than it already is.

I hope it gets better real soon. I hate to watch her in pain. She didn’t want me to go to work today. She wanted to be held but I couldn’t pick her up cause it would hurt her.

Omaha Visits

Published by Steve under Family, Jaki, Shannon

Mom and Dad came down Saturday around 11:30 AM. They came down to visit my works’ Open House on Sunday. It was a great visit. We spent a lot of time on the deck with the wonderful weather.

Jaki is getting a lot better with visits. She calmed down quickly this visit and was not so rough with Mom. Mom and I sat out on the deck Sunday night to enjoy the fire I kept stoked in the cast iron Chimanee. It was a nice cool night so the fire felt great!

Shannon got hurt at work on Saturday. He was working under a car in the Automotive area of Walmart and the car slipped on the rack cutting the tendon in his pinky. He was taken to the emergency room to have it stitched back up. He’s not to use it at work for 5 days so it can heal up. Hopefully he won’t loose any movement in his pinky. One stitch has already fallen out. Hopefully it stays together and fully heals.

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

Published by Steve under Family, Me

Happy Mother’s Day Mom! I hope you didn’t have to wait too long to get your free Brunch!

I have been getting what I believe are migraines. They have just been this year. I use to get sinus head aches every once in a while but they don’t even compare to what I have from time to time.

I had one this morning, just behind my left eye. It was so bad I had to go lay on the couch for an hour till it subsided. It was bad. I felt kind of nausea, so I didn’t know if I was going to throw up or if I was just hungry. Weird!

As I’m writing this, it’s started raining. That will mess up some Mother’s Day plans for folks doing any outdoor events. Too bad, I didn’t think it was suppose to rain today either!

Clean House, kitty!

Published by Steve under Computer, Family, Me, That's Life

Since my folks are coming down from Ralston next weekend; it’s clean time. There are a lot of areas in this house I haven’t “spring cleaned” yet and it’s gonna happen this weekend! Plus I need to get the stuff in the garage back down into the basement (maybe, if I can lift it alone). I’m tired of squeezing out of the car when I’m parked in the garage.

I am spending a lot of time playing with my new computer system. Same old computer but with a new operating system (OS X 10.4 Tiger). It has some really cool stuff that came with the operating system!

Tomorrow I have to get Jaki in to the vet to have her toe nails trimmed. It is time and it will give her a week to “dull” the edges before my folks arrive.

One simple thing I just love about this new OS is Safari (my web browser) now automatically checks my spelling as I type. This blog is done in a web browser window. So before I would have to copy and paste my text into another app to check the spelling. What a hassle that was! Now I just get a jagged red line when I mess up! Plus it will correct the word for me or give suggestions.

Ahhh, progress!

Good Luck

Published by Steve under Shannon

I bought Shannon flowers to make him feel better and hopefully not worry about any results today from his POs. Supposedly today he’ll find out something about his case. I’m hoping for the best.
